Winter Meeting at Cumberland State Park,
December 2 and 3
If you are coming to the
Winter Meeting and want to stay overnight, please contact Jim Garner
for first-come, first-serve, limited reservations for beds. If you

air mattress and sleeping bag. As usual, Jim Garner will do the
annual fish fry. In order to save money, food will be purchased for
those who " reserve a spot at the table". The cost will be
divided among those who participate.
BE SURE TO CONTACT JIM IF YOU
PLAN TO EAT!

Why it’s important for members to attend the Winter Meeting:
this is the meeting where the year’s agenda/calendar for the
state organization is set. If you or representatives of your
chapter are not present, important input into state FFV
business is missing.
Exactly who
officially represents your chapter, you ask? Each of us has an
equal voice, but according to the organization’s by-laws, a
representative from each chapter is a State Director. Unless
specified otherwise, that person is usually considered to be
the Chapter’s president. This is an important consideration
to take into account when each chapter selects/elects a
president. Is your chapter president willing |
and able to attend state meetings,
especially the Winter Meeting?
OK, so if your chapter has a
representative present at the state meetings and you don’t
attend, what’s the difference? If there’s an issue that
may be slightly controversial which requires your support,
your hot little hand needs to be present when it’s time for
the membership in attendance to vote. Also, your president can
hold a quick, quiet conference with those present from your
chapter to determine if you’d rather be cooking or making
porta-potty arrangements for some of the upcoming state float
meetings. Otherwise, it’s left to others to decide for
you.
