   Our Main Goal is for you to have a great river experience while floating with us.  CUSTOMER SATISFACTION and the ULTIMATE IN SERVICE is our business. All of our river excursions are designed to give you an enjoyable and leisurely outing packed with spectacular scenery and plenty of time for exploring and fishing along the way. Sandy beaches wait here for you to sunbathe and picnic. The cool clear waters of the James River offer you a refreshing swim. A river trip with Bent Creek Adventures offers you much more fun than just a simple float.

    Bring your camping gear & your food & drink and  find out how easy it is to get away from it all for two days.  We have various overnight trips available.  Please call for details and information.  Let us customize an overnight trip for you!

Reservations help us make your float the smoothest and most enjoyable possible.  A reserved trip gives us time to prepare Specifically for you, giving you more time on the river and less time on land.  We strongly urge reservations for large groups.

Reservations are taken via telephone, email, fax or you can stop by.  All reservations are tentative until a deposit is received.  We have a large fleet of canoes and tubes.  We will always do our best to accommodate you even at the last minute without a reservation.

 Total amount of trip fee is required as a deposit.  Please pay with CASH, CHECK or TRAVELERS CHECK.  Sorry, no credit cards are accepted. Deposit is forfeited in the event of a "no show".  We reserve the right to cancel any trip due to weather or river conditions.   If we cancel, you will receive a full refund or may reschedule.

  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.  Our staff will need at least 30 minutes to brief you on safety instructions, answer any questions you may have and to load the shuttles.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

Canoe Trips - 

children 10 years to 15 years of age (must be accompanied by an adult).

Tube Trips - 

children  6 years to 15 years of age (must be accompanied by an adult).

All participants under the age of 18 must have
waiver of liability signed by parent or legal guardian.

Water sports are generally safe.  There are nevertheless inherent hazards present whenever you incorporate activities into the natural environment.  Injury or death may occur as a result of seen or unseen hazards.  Bent Creek Adventures on the James, Inc. assumes no liability for accidents to participants or their personal belongings that may occur during any of the activities promoted herein.  The participant is solely responsible for all aspects of his/her safety.

SOFT SOLE SHOES ARE REQUIRED

Please wear a SWIMSUIT or SHORTS & T-SHIRT

REMEMBER SUNGLASSES and SUNSCREEN!

Bring DRY CLOTHES for the trip home.

VALID VIRGINIA FISHING LICENSE is required for all persons age 16 or older planning to fish.

We are located at Bent Creek in Appomattox County
on US highway 60 & Rt. 605 on the James River

FROM CHARLOTTESVILLE:  Take Rt. 29 South to second Amherst exit (Rt. 60).  Turn left on Rt. 60 east and go 13 miles to James River Bridge.  We are located on the left just across the bridge on Rt. 605.

FROM AMHERST:  Take Rt. 60 east to James River Bridge.  We are located on the left just across the bridge on Rt. 605.

FROM RICHMOND:  Take Rt. 60 west to Rt. 605 (just before James River Bridge).  Take a right on Rt. 605.  We are directly on left.

FROM ROANOKE or LYNCHBURG:  Take Rt. 29 North to 60 east.  Turn on Rt. 60, go 13 miles, cross James River Bridge.  We are located on the left just across the bridge on Rt. 605.

FROM FARMVILLE:  Take Rt. 460 west to Appomattox. Take Rt. 26 to Bent Creek and Rt. 60.  Cross over Rt. 60 to Rt. 605.  We are located at the junction of Rt. 60 and Rt. 605.
